Album “Beautiful Bytes” on Basswerk!

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

Basswerk

Yeah, right! We’re doing an album on Basswerk, scheduled for around spring 2006. It will feature at least 12 tunes, some of which contain guest remixes by people we and probably you too highly appreciate. We’ve worked pretty hard on it in the last few months. Most tunes were created from scratch, though we also did some VIP mixes of existing tunes by totally restructuring the original tracks. The album covers a reasonable wide range of sounds, from very moody and deep songs, over epic tunes to the hard-hitting punch in your neurons, always staying true to the sound we represent. “Beautiful Bytes” will also contain several vocal tunes, therefore reflecting the melodic as well as the raw side of our style spectrum.

We’ve just finished the producing phase and are almost ready for mastering. The actual tracklisting is currently in the works and will be announced as soon as possible. You’ll experience some of the tunes in our and the Basswerk crew’s sets, so watch out for that! The album design is also currently in the making and will reflect the sound pretty well. Accompanying the album, which is distributed on CD nationally as internationally, will be a yet undeterminded number of 12″ vinyl releases.

Detailed info soon.

nphect & dizplay – Centroid (Su3-ject rmx) [Trickdisc]

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

su3-ject

This remix, with Counterstrike’s remix of Su3-ject’s “Rage” on the flip, already had made some waves, when Austria label Trickdisc signed it. We know Su3-ject for quite some time now and would call him a friend (if he didn’t live in Bavaria, haha), first meeting at the German DnB online forum Producer-Network (PN), which is hosted by Polarity and through which we met a lot of people (Phace, Jericho, Comatron, Typecell, …). So one may say, PN is the root of Germany’s newcomer producers.

We’re still very happy with the remix Su3-ject did, feeling it’s dark, technoid vibe. DnB business on the other hand sometimes can be pretty annoying.

Review from dnbszene.de:

nphect & dizplay – Fight Club (feat. kry2) / Hell & Earth [V Giana Brotherz]

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

Giana Brotherz

Released on the MP3 label V Giana Brotherz Recordings.

Kry2 is an old friend of ours, which we played in a band and shared a flat with. It therefore was pretty straightforward to collab on a tune. “Fight Club” mainly consists of very fast drums and has a crunchy, techy bassline. The sample from the movie just seemed to fit perfectly in there. “Hell & Earth” comes along as a very good match for it. As for the intro sample, it’s always quite an obvious choice, when you play a computer game and hear all these great samples ;)

Speaking of the label, it’s great to see your work in the hands of people you appreciate. Big up Gianas!

nphect – Enyalios [Shadybrain]

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

Shadybrain

Available via Shadybrain.

Clip: nphect – Enyalios

The title refers to the old greece saga. Enyalios was the name for an average god of war, who grow up to the status of a great conquerer and a fighting champion, he has been demoted to the status of hero.
So does the tune: dodgy retentive beats pave the way for a grooving drumwork and adding the instating bassline, the tune evolves into something big. The aggression level is very subtile but still exisiting and perfectly fits to the wide psycho pads contrary to the hardstepping percussion. The vocal sample is taken from the movie “troy” and underlines the tune’s name.

nphect & dizplay – Bot Funk [Shadybrain]

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

Shadybrain

Released on the MP3 label Shadybrain, “Bot Funk” is one of those vocal tunes you’ll hardly forget. Starting with soft female vocals and crispy cymbals, the tune quickly progresses to an wide open, epic chorus, backed by an electro style bassline, just to return to the harder, monotonous part with it’s morphing midrange elements. From the DJs perspective, we’re again and again surprised by the great effect this tune has on the crowd, playing the role of a turning key in every set we did. (Hmm, why did we release it anyway then…should better have kept it for ourselves, like Fucking Hostile.) Hopefully increasingly more people get into legal digital downloads and appreciate the fast access to fresh bits. I won’t name them, but there are some tunes in our discography which took more than 24 months to become released on vinyl after the initial signing. Always remember that. Support what you appreciate.
